Q. Why should I hire a wedding consultant?
A. Your wedding will be one of the most important events in your
life and the single most expensive day. Your day should be
spent loving each other and conveying that love to your family
and friends. You should not spend the day worrying about all of
the details that you worked so hard to plan. A good wedding
consultant will always be physically exhausted after your wedding
is over because they have been running all day dealing with those
details. A good wedding consultant also has years of experience
developing a thorough portfolio of the best wedding vendors in the area.
You tell us what your vision for your perfect wedding is and we’ll do the
research, organization, and negotiating to help turn your dream into a
reality.

Q. What will a wedding consultant do for us?
A. You may only need to hire a wedding consultant for a few hours in order to
“pick their brains” so to speak. Or, you may decide to hire a consultant to recommend vendors and assist you on your wedding day. For the extremely busy couple, hiring a wedding consultant is a must! The consultant will schedule appointments, accompany you on visits, and assist you through the wedding day until you leave for your honeymoon. Since every couple is unique, their needs will vary and a good consultant will accommodate that.

Q. How much does a wedding consultant cost?
A good wedding consultant will pay for themselves. The BridalSmiths have a strong, long-term relationship with quality vendors and those vendors want to remain on our preferred vendor list. Because of this, the vendors are willing to offer a discount to our clients because it saves them advertising expenses. We have screened and worked with the most talented wedding professionals in the Central Ohio area. We know how to find you the best services to meet your needs at the best price, while at the same time helping you avoid costly mistakes.

Q. What do the BridalSmiths charge?
We offer hourly services as well as package prices. Our hourly rate is $50 with a two hour minimum. Our package prices will depend on each couples needs and they range from $1200 to $4000.

Q. Do you accept commissions?
We DO NOT accept any commission or referral fees from any of the vendors that we recommend. We refer vendors based on their reputation and quality of service. If they offer a referral fee or discount, we pass that savings on to our client.

Q. What should we look for in a consultant?
A free initial consultation, during which the following questions should be answered: years of experience; professional credentials; number of weddings coordinated; scope and size of group that can be accomodated, and specific costs.

Consultants get a lot of requests from novices who would like to become wedding consultants. While it's fun to play at it, it took us years to build this business and develop professional relationships with the vendors that we will recommend to you. You wouldn’t hire someone to build your house if they have never done it before, so why would you ask someone to build your wedding with no experience?

Ultimately, you should have a comfort level with your consultant. You will spend a lot of time communicating with them and you need to feel comfortable doing that. The BridalSmiths feel privileged to be entrusted with assisting you on the most important day of your life…there are no “do-overs”…we will get it right the first time.

Q. Will you coordinate a pagan ceremony?
We believe that our ability to coordinate weddings is a gift from God. Because of this, we choose to stay true to our Judeo-Christian values. If your ceremony doesn’t include God, then we’ll gladly recommend a coordinator who will plan your style of wedding.
